The increase in customers and the need to speed up goods picking processes led Boma Srl to choose to run normal warehouse procedures for order preparation with a voice recognition system that speeds up picking activities and reduces the possibility of error.

The role of vo-CE
The Voice Picking project is born. The players involved are Lexter, solution integrator; LXE, hardware supplier; and Sipe, responsible for the application part, which integrates vo-ce within its Dedalo WMS. MX7 terminals for goods receiving and HX3 computer for picking operations are chosen. LXE MX7 computers are used for the goods entry/exit stages. For picking tasks, however, operators have HX3s, small real computers designed exclusively for voice applications and to be worn on a belt. The keyboard is intuitive and programmable; the device supports headset, microphone, and bar code reader, laser or 2D imager, BlueTooth or wired.
