SAIT is the Trentino cooperative of Coop. In the frozen food warehouse, it uses paper lists for picking, but the process is riddled with errors, product swaps and long processing times. Operators, at -28 C°, do not work well with paper lists, pens and gloves.

The role of vo-CE
Voice picking is ideal in harsh environments, such as low-temperature cells. It
begins with an initial situation analysis phase, which is followed by a
feasibility study and an operational test. Finally, the voice
picking system using Di-Vo, Di.Tech’s vo-ce-based multivendor software, is put in place.
We then proceed with the implementation process, consisting of these steps:
-development of picking operating procedures
-mapping of picking and stock locations
-implementation of radio frequency modules for goods receipt,
-storage and replenishment
-implementation of voice picking for multicustomer preparation
-printing of outbound logistics label
-updating of stock in real time with automatic generation
of drops
-assignment of pick lists and priorities to preparers
LXE’s HX3 terminals are used.
Last but not least
- standardized work procedures
- zero errors
- operators spend less time in the cell
- 25% increase in productivity
- faster deliveries
- hands-free work
