With over 500 stores spread across six regions, the Multicedi Group is a leading player in the large-scale retail sector in central and southern Italy.
As part of its logistics innovation initiative, launched in 2021, the Group chose to partner with Itworks to improve order fulfillment in the warehouse by adopting vo-CE for voice picking operations.

A Flexible Logistics Solution
Already familiar with voice technology, Multicedi was looking for a solution that was more flexible, cost-effective, and compatible with hardware devices readily available on the market.
vo-CE has been integrated with SIPE’s Dedalo WMS and installed on Honeywell EDA52 terminals, which are used in the dry goods, fresh produce, frozen foods, and fruits and vegetables departments.
The ability to use the same devices both in the warehouse and at retail locations has made it possible to standardize the hardware fleet and streamline the organization of operations. In addition, vo-CE does not require voice profile registration and allows operators to use different terminals during their shifts.
The Results
The introduction of vo-CE has brought tangible benefits:
- A 5% increase in productivity compared to previous voice-based solutions.
- Fewer picking errors and more timely deliveries.
- Greater operational flexibility, thanks to the use of interchangeable devices.
- Greater hardware consistency between logistics and retail locations.
